hydroelectric power, or water power, is used by dropping water down a shaft into a turbine which is turned by the water and transfered into electricity.
a dam is the first thing you need to make hydroeletric power. the dam makes a resevior to store water, then there is a shaft to sen the water down to the turbine, the steeper the shaft = the faster the water = more power.
to keep too much water from falling there is a door to stop some of the water.
Natural Effects- the natural effects are heated water which can kill plants that fish feed on, killing the life and habitat.
Usefulness- hydroeletric power powers many people without much power.Hoover Dam powers over 29,000,000 people.
